Migration to another Mac
PhraseExpress can create a single migration file that contains all PhraseExpress program settings and phrase files that can be loaded in a new installation on another Mac.
To create a migration file:
On the old computer, open the main program window, and in the main menu, select "
":Consider to optimize the phrase files to delete old phrase edits, comments to minimize the database file size.
PhraseExpress will collect all data and configuration files, creates a single migration file and saves it to the desired storage location.
Copy the migration file to the new computer.
To load the migration file on the new computer:
Download and install PhraseExpress onto the new computer.
Launch PhraseExpress and register your license key.
In the main menu, select "
":PhraseExpress restores settings and all phrase files.
Done!
If phrase file storage folders are missing on the new computer, PhraseExpress will prompt you to specify the desired storage location.
Migration files cannot be imported into older PhraseExpress versions.
The migration file does not contain the contents of a SQL phrase database but only the connection information to SQL phrase databases.
Migration files can also be used to create a manual full backup (excluding data from MS SQL Servers).
